2010 AGM

The 17th AGM/Dinner of the Adelaide Western General Practice Network Inc is scheduled to be held on 18th November 2010 (Thursday evening) at a venue to be advised. 

2009 AGM

The 16th AGM/Dinner of the Adelaide Western General Practice Network Inc was held on the 30th October 2009 at the Adelaide Sailing Club, West Beach, providing great views of the sea and sunset, as well as fine dining and wining. Over 100 attendees enjoyed the opportunity to meet with colleagues and the AWGPN staff and other invited guests. 

We were very pleased to have Mr Mark Bickley (Assistant Coach, Adelaide Crows) as our AGM guest speaker this year. Mark provided us with a very interesting and inspiring talk on team motivation, based on the experiences of the Crows football team and the various methods they used.  So much of what he had to say is relevant to our GP teams and for our Network as a whole. We will certainly be following up on many of the key ideas he presented, and trust it will improve our game as well.

Board Election
In late August a letter was sent to all our GP members seeking nominations to fill three board vacancies that fell due at our 2009 AGM.  There were only three nominations received by the COB 11th September 2009.  We are therefore pleased to announce that the three Board vacancies were filled by: Drs Helena Spencer, Girolamo Vinci and Pas Cocchiaro. Also, Mrs Kathy Stanton AM was reappointed by the board for another two years.

 2008 AGM 

 The 15th AGM/Dinner of the Adelaide Western General Practice Network Inc was held at the National at the Wine Centre of Australia, Corner of Botanic & Hackney Road, Adelaide on Friday 14 November 2008.

2007 AGM 

The 14th AGM/Dinner of the Adelaide Western General Practice Network Inc was held on the 9th November 2007 at the Grange Golf Club.
 
The great company, along with the wine tasting and the string Trio from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra ensured we all had an enjoyable and fun night. Our guest speaker, Professor Chris Daniels, gave us a very interesting and challenging insight into the urban ecology of the Adelaide Plains and the implications of climate change.  
 
The AGM also went smoothly, and I am pleased to announce that the two Board vacancies were filled by the 2 nominations received.  These were from Drs Pas Cocchiaro and Helena Spencer.

The new Board met in on 29th November, 2007 and elected Dr Pas Cocchiaro (Chairman), Ms Kathleen Stanton (Vice Chair) and Dr Elizabeth Lalor (Treasurer). We look forward to the Board's guidance of the Network over the next 12 months. Copies of the 2006/07 Annual Report  were posted out to all members and is also available herewith. 

A resolution to amend our constitution to change the Board composition to 6 GP members and 2 non-GP members was also passed with overwhelming support. 

It is important that the AWGPN Board continues to not only represent the interests of its members, but that it also does this in accordance with current best practice in corporate governance. The majority of urban Division boards now have two non-GP Board members and their role and input has been greatly valued.

The non-GP Board members bring considerable experience/expertise to the Board in areas such as governance, risk management, finance and business development. The current non-GP member on our Board has been extremely effective in this regard and is highly regarded by the GP members on the AWGPN Board.

Dr Nick Williams who did not  re-nominate has been on the Board since November 1998  - so he has served the AWGPN Board for 9 years, holding both Treasurer and Vice Chair position for many of those years.

 2006 AGM 

The Thirteenth Annual General Meeting Adelaide Western General Practice Network Inc was held on the 10 November 2006 at the National Wine Centre.  We had a great turn out of our members, staff and partners, as well as representatives from various organisations that have worked closely with our Network.

The great company, along with the wine tasting, wine discovery tour and the string Trio from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra ensured we all had an enjoyable and fun night. The AGM also went smoothly, and I am pleased to announce that the four Board (COM vacancies) were filled by the 4 nominations received.  These were from Drs Don Angus, David Compton, Elizabeth Lalor and Girolamo Vinci. 

The new Board met on 23^rd November and elected Dr Pas Cocchiaro (Chairman), Dr Nick Williams (Vice Chairman) and Dr Elizabeth Lalor (Treasurer). Copies of the 2005/06 Annual Report were posted out to all members and stakeholders in December 2006.

  2005 AGM

The AWGPN 2005 AGM was held at The Kooyonga Golf Club on Friday, 11th November 2005.

The evening was a great success and guests were kept entertained throughout the evening by Peter Salerno, President of the 'Laughter Clubs of Australasia'.
